The Canadian conservation corps (CCC) program is a Canadian Wildlife Federation initiative that gives conservationists aged 18-30 a very unique opportunity.

This program lasts nine months. The first month of the program focuses on team building followed by a week long expedition within Canada. Participants have the opportunity to fly out to another province to go kayaking, backpacking, and camping for a week. One of the perks is that everything is included, all you need to do is keep your receipts!

Following the expedition and some well needed recovery time, you will complete a three month internship with a partnering conservation organization! This could potentially entail surveying animals, advocating, or working with youth in conservation - all of which are incredible experiences that come with this program.
The third stage is the service project. This requires the participant to come up with a project that works towards conservation and is given a 6 month time frame to complete it.
I will never forget the agony I felt waiting to hear back after my interview, and the immense amount of joy I felt when I got the acceptance call. It was the happy cry I needed during quarantine. I have been lucky enough to have been accepted into the CCC program although due to COVID I was unable to begin my expedition this year. However, if all goes to plan I will begin this following year!
If you want to get yourself out there and create memories of a life time, the CCC program is for you! They are currently still accepting participants for the upcoming groups so apply when you can!
To learn more bout the specifications take a look at their WEBSITE and their Instagram (@conservationcorpscan).
This is an incredible opportunity for those interested in conservation, I know if I had an opportunity to make a difference, I would take it, and I did.
Because Together, We Can Make A Difference.
